Light

Today, I emerged from my morning shower to find Emma perfectly centered in this direct sun patch on my bedroom floor. Luckily I had my camera on me, so I could get the shot:

Emma Basks in the Sun

The old gal sure hasn’t forgotten how to find her light, has she? She kinda has a Neil Diamond in “The Jazz Singer”-thing going on, you ask me. Or maybe late Sinatra, like right before he started forgetting the lyrics to his songs — that single spotlight, high drama thing. I think she looks great. Too bad she can’t sing.

haha Zack beat me to it… I was wondering the same thing. The difference is… wanting to know. I digress…

Uhm, folks, this is what is known in the industry as a JOKE. Of course I didn’t have my camera on me. I hardly ever bring my camera into the shower with me.

No, Emma was so relaxed in that sunny spot that I was actually able to dress and go downstairs to get the camera and come back up — she hadn’t moved at all. Usually she follows me around the house, so I was expecting to lose the shot as soon as I headed down for the camera. This was a rare photo opportunity.

Crash does the same to me (follow me around everywhere). He picked up meowing at the vet too, which pisses me off because, until that point, he never meowed. Now it’s almost like he’s trying to talk to me. Weird. Crash is one weird cat, but what do you expect out of a cat that, at one point in his life, peed in the toilet:

Both my two cats (may they rest in peace) had the same knack for getting that single solitary spot of sunlight. I think you’re right, cats have a need for the spotight.

Rob,

Our Chihuahuas will find any spot of sun that happens to be in the house and lay in it. Our male chi Pedro can also hear the ceramic heater being turned on in the bathroom from anyplace in the house. He will come from wherever he is to stand in front of it.

There are some photos of Pedro and Maya on thier Dogster pages:

Well, Emma could probably teach some actors I’m acquainted with a thing or two.
