Dualin’

It’s sad, but this excites me:

Today I got access to a dual processor Radiance machine, and finally got to try out a newish feature of rpict, the -N switch. Using this option, rpict will send multiple renderings to multiple CPUs if your machine has them. If I had four CPUs, rpict could render four images in parallel. In the image above, you can see that two rpict processes are getting 99% of a CPUs resources. Trust me, this is cool.

I work with you and I still can only say… “Wha?” hahaha Thankfully I know what Radiance and the images you create are at least! (I need to tell Zack to give me some more “movies” to make!) =D

Rob,

I trust you. I’d like to have a multi-processor machine for WYSIWYG so that I could keep working in CAD mode on one processor and render on the other. . .

My brother is reaffirming that he is a geek.

Dude, I’m not a CAD guy, but hey man, a toy’s a toy. Enjoy.

You have come far young one. Your foo grows by the day. Next thing you know you’ll be growing the standard UNIX beard (required for true UNIX foo’ness).
