i made the tragic mistake of taking an out of town friend for a friendly hike up pikes that same day! it was amazing seeing people sprinting downhill as we trudged toward the summit. good thing galen finished so early, the weather was AWFUL by 2pm. congrats to galen--a tremendous accomplishment!

Hi,
I was wondering if you could offer any training advice for training for the Pikes Peak Marathon. My father ran the marathon many times before he died, and I would love to run it. The only catch is, I live in Florida. How would I train for an altitude event when I live at sea level!?

I was running (well, more like walking) the Pikes Peak marathon. Caught this picture of Bib #2 on his way down between A-Frame and Barr Camp. Congratulations to Galen.

Fantastic Galen -- I can't even imagine what that's like -- unbelivable to blow the field away like that. Competitors like you keep the rest of us inspired. Hope to meet you someday. And way to go Rob -- you're such an excellent cheerleader!
