Rob and Brenda,

We are so, so sorry for your loss. We were thinking about you today because we understand how difficult this day must have been. And we know you lost your roommate, your best friend, your soul mate.

Emma worshipped you both and was such a cool cat. And she was quite the badass, which was incredibly evident when we attempted to watch her that first few months you lived in Boulder. We will miss Em. Let us know if there’s anything we can do for you.

Love, Bill and Lauren

She was a wonderful girl who will be missed by those who were lucky to have known her, especially you and Brenda. As I said last week, she has been a significant part of your story from the early days, since the second chapter, and filled many pages over the past 16 years. I will always remember her from the picture taken in Hoboken, with Emma striking a pose on the bed with Lupe in the bedroom. She loved the camera. Emma loved you for the wonderful life you gave her and gave that love unconditionally. In loving Emma enough to let her be at peace, you have given her the most precious gift of all.

Ginny, Heidi & Champ are with her at the Rainbow Bridge and will keep her company until you are all together again. Bob & I are here for you. I wish we were there (in Colorado) for you.

You were both lucky to have her in your lives and she was lucky to have you both in her life. Smile and remember how happy she made you.

Sorry to hear the sad news Rob. The best things in life are always the hardest to lose. She certainly passed away knowing she was loved though.

I’m so, so sorry. I know that you are both devastated right now and for a long time to come. I always thought of Emma as a symbol of your long loving relationship. She was there from the beginning.

She left her paw print in your hearts forever.

Love, Mom
