i just realized i haven't heard about u.s. politics in over 10 days. wow! it was pretty much every day leading up to the election. needless to say, i am stoked. for once i can be proud of my country's leader whilst being in another country. by the way, how do you like that use of the word 'whilst'?

I was joyful and teary Tuesday night but also quite aware of all that lies before us. I think there's a greater sense of urgency about health care now that so many people can't afford it, but we should remember that Obama never promised universal health care.

I actually like John Edward's solution: force health care companies to spend no more than 20% of their revenues on administration and corporate salaries. That would have turned them into de facto nonprofits.

But what I really want is single-payer, and Obama won't do that unless forced.

It was nice to see Colorado change from Red to Blue.
As soon as it was announced that Obama had won PA, I knew it was over for McCain. Hell, it was over before it even began. There was no nail biting because Obama had sealed the deal three weeks ago.
I am happy with our country and my cynicism has been quelled... for the time being.

I cannot believe that both Virginia (where I live) and Colorado (my home state) went blue! It was so much fun to watch last night after casting a ballot in a swing state. As you said Rob, I too can again be proud of our country. Wohoo!!!!!
