I had a blackberry before, and the only thing it did marginally better was faster ability to type on it. That is well worth giving up for the other features on the phone. And Galen, Siobhan has that same 12" MBP. We'll likely be replacing it in the coming year . . . It's noticeably faster than my MBP; I haven't put it through all of its paces yet (flight simulators!), but I'm happy with it so far. I do kinda hate the new trackpad though. Sweet! Let me know how you like it. I'm still hanging on to my old 12" Macbook Pro G4 from over 4 years ago. It's still works but it's definitely slowing down and I've run out of disk space like 10 times now. I'm thinking of settling for the Macbook (new aluminum ones) instead of a Pro, and hearing you make the same move makes me feel better about it. Too bad they cost an arm and a leg in Australia...
