Fun with Edward Hopper

Have a look at this fine offering from the late, great Edward Hopper:

One day as the sun was setting, the low angle sunlight was streaming into our living room at the exact angle as the sun in Edward Hopper’s “Early Sunday Morning”. I took a picture:

These images are a fun juxtaposition. The painting is called “Early Sunday Morning”; since the sun rises in the east, the shadows tell us the painting is a view of a city block looking north. My photograph is of the setting afternoon sun, so now you know that the painting is hung on the south wall in our apartment.
