There. Today, during my lunch break, I uploaded a bunch of files to my domain host’s webserver, ran one SQL query which populated my database with the entire contents of my old weblog, edited a config file, and thus rumblestrip version 4.0 came into being.

Now, it wasn’t all happy happy joy joy for Rob here, but with the kind help from several people in the Textpattern forums and on my website host I have been able to make this thing go.

A couple of things:

  • The comments on my recent Taco Bell story were posted while I was working on this new site version on my laptop, so they did not get inserted into the new database. I will look into manually pasting them in or something.

  • You may wanna clear your web browser’s cache if you’re a regular visitor.

  • The RSS feed has a new address and I’ve added an Atom feed.

  • Most of the “static” pages are not up yet, but I’m working on it.

  • The image gallery is barren; The developer of Textpattern is adding some functionality to allow for more flexibility with image handling. Check back.

  • There are liable to be many busted-ass links, as all the URLs for every article on my site have changed now.

  • There’s a search function once again. It lives in the left column with a “categories” pulldown and a “sections” pulldown. I hope this is a simple, efficient layout that helps you find what you’re looking for.

Please report any busted-ass behavior to me. I’ll try and get this thing ship-shape soon. That’s all for now.
